A history of the Competition has started since 1995 when teachers of R.Glier Kyiv State Music College where Vladimir Horowitz studied initiated to hold the first Competition from April 23 till May 3; 102 young pianists from 13 countries of the world came at the Competition. During 1995-1997 prize winners of the first Competition toured in the USA, France, Russia, Israel, and Ukraine.
