Kyiv Summer Music Evenings
The Festival's concerts take place for two months at every weekend on the Summer stage of the Central park of Culture and Resort in the capital of Ukraine Kyiv.
The Festival's concert programs presents admirers of music art with compositions by classic and modern authors which are performed by the soloists, symphonic, chamber, wind orchestras, ensembles, choral and jazz groups.
During its history concerts have been held involving soloists and groups from many countries, such as: Armenia, Austria, Belarus, China, Estonia, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA.
Central Park of Culture and Resort of Kyiv was founded in XVIII century and is one of the most favourite places for citizens and guests of Kyiv.
In 1920s on the Summer stage of the Central Park performed such prominent musicians as Alexander Glazunov, Sergey Prokofiev, Vladimir Horowitz, Nathan Milstein, conducted Reingold Glier, Felix Blumenfeld. In 1950s the renowned conductor Nathan Rachlin performed his huge series of world music heritage.
Summer festival attracts many tourists from different countries of the world because its concerts are held in the so called "dead season" when the majority of Kyiv theatres and concert halls are close. Audience has got a possibility to enjoy interesting concert program of philharmonic level on the Summer stage.
The revival of this tradition took place due to the initiative of the International Charitable Fund of Vladimir Horowitz Competition which was supported by Kyiv City State Administration.
